Today I watched "The Hurt Locker", it is a movie based on a troop of men in the middle or the war in iraq. It goes through their lives and all the challenges they face. This movie was very depressing to watch because you see what these people do to save us here. The men in this movie are a true explination of life in war. They save people, kill people, and they disarm the bombs in Iraq. The people in this movie loose a couple of close friends and don't alwasy like the new guy who comes in their place but when needed they will protect eachother no matter what

Yesterday I traveled from Honduras to start my traveling basketball season! As I went through customs in Huston, i was carrying my basketball with me and the securtiy gaurd asked me to step aside to look through it. As he ruffles through my bag he takes my basketball and says is there anything imside it. As I tell him no, he tells me that they are going to have to let all the air out. I was so frustrated an dwas ready to scream! But when i got to the gym today, I was able to refill my ball!

The weekend of June 19 and 20, my basketball team and I competed in the Denver Basketball College Tournament and took 1st place. As the team captian, it is my job to communicate with the referees, players, and coaches. I take my status with pride and this weekend I was awarded MVP and Captain of the Tournament awards! In the championship I took a elbow to the stomach and broke a rib! I was out for the rest of this week.

Yesterday I went to the emergency room where I was poked and prodded for every disease known to man and the out come I have Malaria! So yesterday they gave me a lot of medicine and an IV. I had to talk to all of the doctors and people by myself because my parents are not yet here in the united states with me. It is crazy hard to explain to everyone what is going on over the phone so my mom will be coming down next week. But on the bright side non of this is affecting my basketball! Thank God!

Today I went to a couple of parties to celebrate the independence of the United States. I went to the lake with some friends and later went to my aunts house to watch the fireworks. I speak english with all my friends and family here in the States because this is our first language.

The other day I started to read the book "My Sisters Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. This book tells a story of a family that has a daughter who is diagnosed with leukemia and needs a downer of bone marrow and many more painful treatments. In the story, her parents have a second daughter that has just the perfect genes so that she can donate to the older sister. So far in the book, Anna the younger sister has gone to a well know lawyer to sue her parents for the right to her own body! The book is very sad and very compelling.

My parents were not with me so I went to the hospital with one of the scouts that voluntered to take me to the ER. I will upload a picture of my home made splint as soon as I can.
